Rockwood Apartments is an innovative, multifamily development that provides affordable housing to 48 homeless kids and their families. As part of the Homeless Assistance Pilot Program (HAPP), a collaboration among the City of Anaheim, the Anaheim Union School District and the Illumination Foundation, these students and their families now have a permanent home. This helps these families end homelessness and gives them the support they need to improve their health, find and keep jobs, and provide for their families for the long-term.
The affordable housing community includes 15 apartments of permanent supportive housing designated for those who are formerly homeless or at risk of homelessness and living with a mental illness. Living at Rockwood provides stability and ongoing mental heath services so they can thrive in the community. Six additional affordable housing units are for large families.
For all of these residents, permanent housing will provide crucial stability and onsite resident services for families and permanent supportive housing services for those living with mental illness. Already, a growing network of community partnerships will include collaborations with:
For Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) clients living with a mental health diagnosis, clinical supportive services are provided through PACT, an Orange County Healthcare Agency program.
Rockwood is located adjacent to an elementary school and within a mile of public transportation, several grocery stores and pharmacies, a middle school, a local food bank, one mobile and two local health clinics, and many neighborhood parks.
Jamboree and Innovative Housing Opportunities collaborated with the City of Anaheim, the Anaheim School District, the Illumination Foundation and other partners to create this innovative affordable housing community that provides much-needed housing and services to both previously homeless families and those formerly homeless or at risk of homelessness living with mental illness. Jamboree and its community partners are dedicated to keeping Rockwood well maintained and affordable while providing high-quality services to residents for the long-term.
