IRVINE, CA – Jamboree Housing Corporation announced today the promotion of Welton R. Smith to Senior Vice President of Housing Development, according to Laura Archuleta, President.
Smith, who joined the nonprofit affordable housing developer in 2014 as Vice President of Housing Development, is responsible for all aspects of the company’s housing development and associated operations including business development, acquisitions, entitlement, planning and design, construction, and major capital improvements.

Prior to joining Jamboree, Smith held senior vice president of development positions at Palm Communities and National Community Renaissance (National CORE). During his 30-year career, Smith has gained extensive experience in all areas of real estate development and management including affordable housing, office and retail, hotel, and industrial. His expertise covers business development, finance, planning, project management and construction. From 1997 to 2001, Smith was a senior engineer with American Airlines’ real estate department where he managed the airline’s aircraft maintenance division assets and oversaw the construction of airport facilities worldwide.
